Department of Industrial Technology (DoIT), Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) and Innovate UK officially announced the " Call for 2023 Taiwan-UK Innovation Collaboration". The call opens from April 24th to July 19th in 2023, encouraging collaboration in the fields of smart technology (e.g. next generation communication and semiconductor technology), green energy technologies (e.g. electric vehicles, hydrogen transportation and renewable energy), smart manufacturing biotechnology (e.g. medicine, medical materials), as well as service innovation (e.g. the Internet of Things, Big Data, Artificial Intelligence). Taiwan and the UK will jointly provide funding subsidies to encourage industrial R&D investments to create competitive advantage. The UK government will provide up to 2 million pounds (approximately NT$75 million) in funding in 2023 to subsidise UK enterprises in the 2023 UK-Taiwan Collaborative R&D Call. The DoIT will subsidise the project through the A+ Industrial Innovative R&D Program. Taiwan enterprises can be funded up to 50%, with the project duration ranging from a minimum of two to a maximum of three years. The applicant must provide common proposal and related document.
