To improve the quality of effluent water in the Nanzih Technology Industrial Park and to prepare for the following reclaim water system at the same time, The Export Processing Zone Administration (EPZA) of the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) spent NTD 180 million to conduct the functional improvement project of the lift station and the completion and launching ceremony was hold on October 11, 2022. The completed project confirmed that the quality of effluent water could be lower than the effluent water standard by about 85%, and the approved discharge volume of the lift station in the park was also increased from the originally approved 26,020CMD to 33,250CMD. The increased discharge quota could be used for park manufacturers to expand factories and use incrementally.
Yang Po-Keng, the EPZA Director-General, indicated that the Nanzih Technology Industrial Park lift station was completed in 2006 and has been launched for 16 years. Through the functional improvement of the station, in addition to optimizing the effluent water quality of the existing lift station, also provides Nanzih Technology Industrial Park with more opportunities to increase and expand the plant and the environmental conditions for sustainable operation. Moreover, by doing so, not only make the enterprises more prosperous, but also make enterprises could take into account environmental protection, and move towards the goal of circular economy and industrial sustainable development.
The Export Processing Zone Administration (EPZA) further stated that the 'turn-key project for the improvement of facilities function of Nanzih Technology Industrial Park lift station' was jointly undertaken by Orzone Environmental Technology Co., Ltd and Shang Yi Construction Co., Led. This project used the latest BioNET technology developed and promoted by the Industrial Technology Research Institute, the leading industrial technology research agency in domestic, and added the biological treatment unit and sludge dewatering unit. And upgraded the old equipment that does not have biological degradation function to have biological treatment efficiency, so that the effluent water in the park could be better than the standard set by the Environmental Protection Bureau, which could help the industrial development of the park's sustainable operation.
