Ministry of the Interior Advances Tucheng Justice Park Development with Emphasis on Clean and Efficient Engineering Environment
The Land Consolidation Engineering Bureau (LCEB) under the Ministry of the Interior (MOI) has initiated the "Tucheng Justice Park Sectional Expropriation Public Works Integrity Platform" to enhance transparency in procurement. MOI Chief Secretary Huang Chun-yi highlighted that since May 2021, with the support and policy directives of the Executive Yuan, the MOI the Ministry has revitalized the former Tucheng Ammunition Depot site. Scheduled for completion by end-2026, this project will accommodate judicial and correctional agencies, facilitate the Jincheng Interchange, and allocate 1.1 hectares for social housing. This not only facilitates transportation in Tucheng but, more importantly, through comprehensive development and investment in public construction and welfare facilities, will offer local residents a higher quality living and residential environment, creating a win-win situation for the central government, local authorities, and residents, thereby facilitating the development of Tucheng.
Huang noted that the total cost of the Tucheng Justice Park sectional expropriation project exceeds NT$2.8 billion. To ensure procurement and engineering quality, the Ministry of the Interior has proactively invited prosecutorial, integrity, and investigation agencies to collaborate in establishing a government procurement integrity platform, thereby creating a clean and high-quality public works environment. The integrity platform launched today not only plans to regularly invite relevant agencies, interdisciplinary experts, and scholars to hold liaison meetings to discuss procurement issues and eliminate legal concerns, but also simultaneously sets up an "Integrity Platform Section" on the LCEB’s official website. This section will regularly publish information related to construction management and acceptance operations, thereby realizing a public works environment subject to public scrutiny through information transparency and proactive disclosure.
Today's event ceremony was attended by distinguished guests, including platform members such as Yu Li-chen, Chief Prosecutor of the New Taipei District Prosecutors Office, Chang Yu-ruei, Director of the New Taipei City Field Office of the Investigation Bureau, Su Yu-chang, Vice Executive Director of Transparency International Taiwan, and Lin Ching-ling, Director-General of the LCEB. Other notable attendees included Chen Cheng-wei, Presiding Judge of the New Taipei District Court, Liu Ming-chang, Director of the Taipei Detention Center, and Chu Chieh-min, Warden of the Taipei Women's Detention Center, who jointly declared the launch of the integrity platform.
