Taoyuan Venture Capital Alliance Officially Launched; Mayor Chang: Connecting Capital, Industry, and Global Resources to Accelerate Startup Growth
08
Taoyuan Mayor Chang San-Cheng attended the “Meet Taoyuan+ Expert Talks and Venture Capital Alliance Launch Ceremony” on September 14, announcing the official launch of the Taoyuan Venture Capital Alliance. Mayor Chang emphasized that taking startup innovations from concept to market demands more than technical prowess and strong execution. It also requires long-term backing from investors, industry partners, and international networks. The alliance’s inaugural lineup brings together 16 venture capital firms. By leveraging their distinct investment specializations, industry expertise, and market networks, the alliance aims to help startups pinpoint ideal partners, secure funding, scale into new markets, and expand their international reach. Building on its established youth entrepreneurship initiatives, the Taoyuan City Government will continue integrating corporate and VC resources to accelerate the growth of high-potential startups. Mayor Chang highlighted that during a trip to the United States three years ago, he personally visited Plug and Play, a leading global innovation accelerator. That visit paved the way for Plug and Play’s establishment at the Hutoushan Innovation Hub, creating an ongoing channel for global startup resources to flow into Taoyuan. Given Taoyuan’s robust manufacturing foundation and complete AI server supply chain, the city government aims to combine Plug and Play’s global network with domestic VC and corporate resources. This synergy will dramatically streamline the matchmaking process across capital, technology, and market opportunities.
