Following the inclusion of Article 6 international cooperation mechanisms in Taiwan's "2035 Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC 3.0)," the Taiwan Carbon Solution Exchange (TCX) and the Taiwan Stock Exchange (TWSE) will jointly host the "Global Forum on Carbon Pricing & Climate Finance" on March 18. This forum coincides with the National Development Council’s "2050 Net Zero City Expo" and aims to deepen international cooperation in climate governance.
Taiwan officially launched its carbon fee system in 2025 and is currently developing its own Emissions Trading System (TW ETS). Since signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the European Energy Exchange (EEX) in June 2025, TCX has been dedicated to deepening its research into global carbon pricing mechanisms and climate finance practices. By drawing on international experience, TCX aims to establish a carbon market foundation with global connectivity, thereby enhancing the transparency and resilience of Taiwan’s system and ensuring substantial alignment with the global carbon market.
The forum will gather representatives from the European Energy Exchange (EEX), the Carbon Market Institute (CMI), Verra, and the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI). Professor Wen-Chen Shih from the Department of International Business at National Chengchi University (former Deputy Minister of Environment) will moderate an in-depth panel discussion. International experts will share insights on the development of the TW ETS and international cooperation strategies, helping Taiwanese enterprises grasp the dynamics of global carbon pricing and climate finance and creating new opportunities for a net-zero transition.
We cordially invite all partners interested in international carbon market development, net-zero transition, and carbon credit cooperation to join us at this forum.
