2026 Hsinchu Tech City Forum Kicks Off! Mayor Kao Calls for Cross-Sector Alliance to Drive Technological Resilience
Amid rapid global advancements in AI, the restructuring of semiconductor supply chains, and the push toward net-zero transformation, Hsinchu City—Taiwan’s high-tech hub—plays a vital role in connecting industrial innovation with global competitiveness. On the 20th, the Hsinchu City Government hosted the “2026 Hsinchu Tech City Forum” at the Ambassador Hotel Hsinchu, where Mayor Kao Hung-An joined leaders from industry, government, academia, and research institutions. Centered on the theme “Technological Resilience in the New Global Order: Semiconductor Sustainability and AI as National Strength,” the forum addressed key topics including semiconductor sustainability, innovative AI applications, smart governance, talent cultivation, and regional collaboration, aiming to unlock new opportunities in the AI era and build an innovative, sustainable tech city.
Mayor Kao praised the forum’s distinguished lineup of speakers, noting that the event showcased the technological momentum Hsinchu has built across sectors—from semiconductors and AI to ESG initiatives. She expressed gratitude to Global Views Monthly for its continued partnership as the forum entered its third year. Mayor Kao emphasized that the annual forum offers stakeholders a clear look at Hsinchu’s evolving industrial strength, with this year’s edition bridging city development with corporate transformation, ESG goals, and talent cultivation.

Through Taiwan’s first ESG Matching Platform, the city aligns corporate sustainability goals with municipal needs, transforming ESG from an internal corporate task into a key driver of urban development. Notable public-private partnerships include a joint initiative with TSMC that planted over 48,000 trees at Nanliao Fishing Harbor, as well as Vanguard International Semiconductor’s (VIS) adoption and maintenance of Sakura Park, demonstrating how corporate action creates tangible environmental impact.
