To broaden students’ horizons, spearhead educational integration across the Hsinchu City-Hsinchu County-Miaoli region, and expand a forward-looking, interdisciplinary learning network, the Hsinchu City Government held a memorandum of understanding (MOU) signing ceremony on the 16th for the “Hsinchu Good Learning: Hsinchu City-Hsinchu County-Miaoli Technical and Vocational Education Alliance.” Mayor Kao Hung-An personally presided over the event, announcing formal partnerships with Minghsin University of Science and Technology, Minth University of Science and Technology, Yuanpei University of Medical Technology, and Yu Da University of Science and Technology. Moving forward, the alliance will integrate educational resources across administrative borders and academic levels, linking the advanced technology and practical teaching capabilities of higher education with junior and senior high schools. Together, they aim to build a comprehensive, forward-looking ecosystem for vocational education and talent development throughout the region.
Mayor Kao stated that Hsinchu City is a vital global tech hub and a cornerstone of Taiwan’s high-tech industry. The city government team has consistently championed “Hsinchu Good Learning” as its core educational vision, actively driving educational innovation and talent cultivation. In the face of rapid development in emerging sectors such as semiconductors, artificial intelligence (AI), smart manufacturing, healthcare, and robotics, the demand for skilled professionals continues to surge. The four universities of science and technology participating in this alliance possess rich resources and proven track records in teaching, serving as a pivotal force in nurturing the foundational talent required by future industries.
Mayor Kao pointed out that the signing of this MOU is not merely an educational cooperation project, but a major collective commitment by the Hsinchu City-Hsinchu County-Miaoli region to cultivate future talent. The city government will fully invest itself across multiple dimensions—including financial backing, resource integration, and aligning talent cultivation pathways—to support these four tech universities in forging tighter partnerships with local middle and high schools. This initiative will enable children in the region to study, grow, and secure employment locally. She expressed hope that this tripartite collaboration among government, academia, and industry will allow vocational education to take root and flourish in the region, jointly shaping future talent with global competitiveness.
